Project Description: This recent bathroom renovation was completed by our fitting team in an old stone cottage in the village of Caergwrle in Wrexham, North Wales. We designed, supplied and installed this bathroom for our customers from start to finish.

This recent bathroom renovation was completed by our fitting team in an old stone cottage in the village of Caergwrle in Wrexham, North Wales. We designed, supplied and installed this bathroom for our customers from start to finish. It included a full demolition and rebuild, with the main features being a d-shaped bath, a walk-in shower and updated plumbing and electricity. The redesign focused on optimising the use of space and incorporating high-quality finishes for a clean, timeless look and creating a comfortable space for a family bathroom.

Due to the bathroom being in an old stone cottage, the renovation was not straightforward as none of the room’s structures were straight or flat, the surfaces on the floor and walls were uneven which provided difficulties with redesigning. We had to restart it from the beginning, ripping up the old flooring and create a new subfloor, this meant that we would have a flat and even level to build up from. After that, the walls were stripped back to the brickwork so that we would be able replaster the walls to make sure that we had an even surface to work with. After this, we were able to start with the rest of the work.

Our customers chose to have a D-shaped bath installed onto the back wall to maximise the use of space, and next to that they requested to have a walk-in shower be built with a glass floor to ceiling panel, equipped with both an overhead shower and a hand-held detachable shower. Built-in niches were installed into the walls behind the bath and inside of the shower, to provide additional storage spaces, with led lighting was added into the niche above the bath to add extra back lighting.

Grey ceramic tiles were chosen for the wall and floor along with a wood effect wall panel for a feature effect inside of the niches to compliment the basin vanity unit which has a fluted wooden finishing. Our team completed the room with a Led-lit mirror and a small radiator, all these design choices were chosen to give the room a timeless classic feel whilst remaining a warm and comfortable family bathroom, completed to the utmost satisfaction for ourselves and our customers.
